Meet Our Doctors
Dr. John Wilson
Dr John A Wilson graduated from the New
York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1972.
In 1984, Dr Wilson was made a Diplomate of the American Board of
Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in Canine and Feline Practice. He has Recertified
in 1994, 2004 and 2014.
ABVP advances the quality of veterinary medicine through
certification of veterinarians who demonstrate excellence in species-oriented
clinical practice. The Diplomates of
ABVP have a common desire and willingness to deliver superior, comprehensive,
multi-disciplinary veterinary service to the public. They are veterinarians who
have demonstrated expertise in the broad range of clinical subjects relevant to
their practice and display the ability to communicate medical observations
and data in an organized and appropriate
manner.
Dr Wilson is a member of the American Veterinary Medical
Association and the New York State Veterinary Society.
Dr Wilson is accredited by the United States Department
of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS) for
Category 2 of the National Veterinary Accreditation Program.
Dr Wilson was awarded the Green
Chimney's Wildlife Award in 2017. It is an award to express their
gratitude for his pro-bono medical work with their Wildlife Center and Birds of
Prey. Dr Wilson was also awarded the 2017 Blue Heron Award for
Conservation by the Putnam County Land Trust. The Blue Heron Award was created
to recognize those individuals and groups who have demonstrated an unfailing
commitment to local environmental conservation and education.
Dr Wilson was named 2015 North Salem Chamber of
Commerce Person
Of The Year.
Dr. Divya Persaud
Dr. Divya Persaud earned her degree from THE Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Westchester, New York, where she continues to live and serve her local community. Dr. Persaud has a special interest in expanding her knowledge of wildlife medicine and has a strong passion for patient care and client education. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Persaud is a professional Netflix binger, enjoys traveling, and crafting. She and her husband, a pharmacist, share their home with two furry “colleagues”: Zoink, her cat with an honorary DVM, and Rufus, her dog who proudly holds both DVM and PharmD titles—degrees they earned by faithfully accompanying them through their professional training.
