According to American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists (ACVA) guidelines, patients should be monitored by clinical observation involving the anesthetists sight, touch and hearing (subjective), and by continuous and intermittent monitoring devices (objective). Monitoring should include the cardiovascular, respiratory and central nervous systems and body temperature.

In our Practice we designate a Licensed Veterinary Technician to perform clinical observation monitoring and the Vmed Vetgard+ monitor which monitors ECG, Temperature, Respiration, SpO2, Animal validated NIBP with systolic, diastolic and MAP Inspired/Expired CO2 Capnograph and apnea detection, while our patients are under Anesthesia.
